About the style
What to expect.
Black and grey realism is built on smooth shading, controlled contrast and clean healed results. It suits portraits, statues, animals, architecture and darker surreal concepts, and it scales well: the same approach works for a forearm piece or a full sleeve planned over multiple sessions.
This is the style our studio is best known for. Nicholas, our head artist, has worked in black and grey realism since 2015, and most of the larger pieces that come out of the studio, sleeves, chest pieces and cover-ups included, sit in this style.
The studio is private and appointment only in Camden, and most realism clients come from across the Macarthur region: Narellan, Oran Park, Harrington Park, Campbelltown and surrounds. Larger pieces are planned across sessions, so travel time matters less than finding the right artist for the piece.

- It depends on the size, placement and detail of the piece. Send the idea through the enquiry form with reference images and a rough size, and we will come back with quote guidance before you commit to anything.

- Detail needs room. Fine textures like fur, stone or skin hold up better at medium and larger sizes, so we will sometimes recommend a slightly larger size or a simpler composition so the piece still reads clearly as it ages.
