Cover-ups thatactually cover.
Old names, faded pieces and regretted tattoos, reworked into something you want to show.

About the style
What to expect.
A good cover-up starts with the tattoo underneath. Its size, how dark it is and how much it has faded decide what can go over it, so the design is built around the old piece rather than forced on top of it. Done well, nobody can tell there was ever anything there.
Darker, denser styles carry cover-ups best, which is why most of ours land in black and grey: skulls, florals, animals and bold script all have the coverage to bury old work. Colour cover-ups are possible too when the old piece is light enough, and heavily faded tattoos give the most freedom.
The process runs through the same enquiry as everything else, with one extra step: send a clear, well-lit photo of the existing tattoo. From there we will be honest about what will genuinely cover it, what would need to change, and whether some fading beforehand would open up better options.

Common questions
Before
you enquire.
- Can any tattoo be covered up?
- Most can, but not with just anything. Dark, dense or large old work narrows the design options, and the new piece usually needs to be bigger and darker than what it covers. Send a clear photo through the enquiry form and we will tell you honestly what will work.
- Do I need laser removal first?
- Not always. Faded tattoos often cover directly. If the old piece is very dark or you want something light and open over it, a few fading sessions first can make the difference between a compromise and the design you actually want. We will advise either way from your photo.
- Does a cover-up cost more than a normal tattoo?
- It is quoted like any other piece, by size, detail and session time, but cover-ups often need to be larger and denser than the tattoo underneath, which can push the size up. Quote guidance comes with your enquiry reply once we have seen the existing tattoo.
