Tattoo style · Camden NSW
Colour thatholds up.
Saturated, layered colour work that stays vivid as it heals.

About the style
What to expect.
Colour realism relies on colour theory as much as technique: layering, saturation and contrast decisions made with how the piece will heal and age in mind, not just how it photographs on the day.
It is a natural fit for character and pop-culture pieces, animals, and anything where colour carries the impact. Skin tone, placement and sun exposure all affect how colour settles, which is why the enquiry asks about placement early: it changes what we recommend.
Independence Ink is a private, appointment-only studio in Camden, NSW. Colour work often runs in longer sessions, so most clients travel from around the Macarthur region and plan the day around it.

Common questions
Before
you enquire.
- Does colour work on all skin tones?
- Colour behaves differently on different skin tones, and some palettes settle better than others. That is part of what we look at when your enquiry comes through, and we will be straight with you about what will hold up well.
- Will the colour fade?
- All tattoos soften over time, and sun exposure is the biggest factor. Good technique, sensible placement and aftercare keep colour vivid for years. Our aftercare page covers how to protect it.
- How long does a colour piece take?
- Colour packing and layering take longer than the equivalent black and grey piece, so medium pieces often run as a full-day session and larger ones across multiple sittings. Quote guidance comes with the enquiry reply.
